About Us

Talent Dance Academy is a dance and performing arts school based in Cambridgeshire.
We offer clubs such as Breakfast, Lunch and After School and Themed Holiday Camps. We also work with schools to deliver PE sessions and upskilling within dance for their teachers. We also work with the SCITT training scheme to deliver dance training to the trainee teachers on their courses in Cambridge and Bury St.Edmunds.

We have worked all across Cambridgeshire to deliver high quality upskilling, helping teachers to gain confidence in their dance delivery. We also provide schemes of work, session plans, workshops and enrichment sessions for schools.

This is our 12th year of working with schools to provide our sessions for primary school aged children. We run the majority of our session in Huntingdon, St.Ives and Great Wilbraham which is a little village just outside of Cambridge.

We work with schools to provide fun, educational, engaging and exciting sessions for the students.

Talent Dance Academy is also an accredited centre, to provide and train students in gaining their Dance Leadership Qualifications. We work with the "Leadership Skills Foundation" to guide and train our assistants and passionate students, to gain life long qualifications.

Meet the Team

Ms Charlotte Cooney

Charlotte started dancing at the age of 3 studying ballet with Mr John Dowson and New Road studios. She also danced as a child with the Wendy Burke School of Dance studying Modern and Tap ISTD. In which she took all her exams up to intermediate level. She also attended Jazz technique classes with The Guitart School of Dance and New Road Studios.

As a teenager Charlotte used to run the after-school dance club at her secondary school and choreographed many school play production numbers for her peers. Also, whilst at secondary school, Charlotte auditioned and was accepted into a contemporary company based in Cambridge which performed and created many pieces. Charlotte went on to study at the prestige dance school “Bodywork” in Cambridge. She attended for 4 years gaining her foundation course certificate alongside her level 6 national diploma in Dance. Charlotte went on to teach BTec dance and gained her PTLLS (preparing to teach in the lifelong learning sector) Level 4 qualification. Charlotte has also many sports qualifications such as Multiskills, Tri golf and Badminton! Charlotte has taught in many dance schools across Cambridge, Huntingdonshire, Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire. She has choreographed winning pieces for the UDO competitions held across the UK. Charlotte set up Talent Dance Academy in 2012 after graduation from Bodywork. Hungry for more, she began working within schools to teach and upskill the teachers in dance. Over the 12 years since she graduated Charlotte has worked in almost every school in Huntingdonshire! teaching Dance PE sessions to children and helping the teachers to gain confidence and knowledge within dance. Charlotte has also been working with the SCITT training centre for the past 4 years based in Cambridge and Bury St. Edmunds to train the trainee teachers in dance. Currently Charlotte teaches for The Vicky Grant School of dance based in St. Ives Cambridgeshire, she has taught there for 9 years now and loves working with her VG family. Charlotte is also a trained sports massage therapist! She feels this qualification can also help and guide her students and fellow colleagues.

Mrs Hazel Vickers

Hazel studied Sports and Exercise Science for 1 year at Portsmouth. Completed a 3-year degree in primary education with QTS at Middlesex University. She has been a teacher for 7 years but has volunteered in schools since the age of 14.
Hazel has always been interested in singing, dancing and acting. Hazel performed as part of the school choir at the Royal Albert hall and at the Royal Festival Hall. As a teenager, Hazel performed in many different school plays such as: Bugsey Malone, Grease and Hairspray. Her favourite memory was singing Greased Lightning as Kenickie and jumping out of the half-car the school had borrowed for the production! When Hazel wasn’t in school plays, she was playing guitar and singing at different music venues around London.
Cerys Standen
Isobelle Moore

Isobelle has danced from the age of 3 starting ballet at Vicky Grant School of Dance. This was followed by joining tap, modern jazz and street dance now reaching advanced foundation in ballet and modern jazz and grade 6 in tap. As part of Vicky Grant of School, she has taken part in many shows, pantomimes, medals, carnivals, and cabarets. Through her primary school years, Isobelle was taught by Miss Charlotte, since aged 10 until leaving for secondary school, doing a performing arts club available at her school. In secondary school, Isobelle took part in multiple dance clubs to take part in the yearly show, ‘Ivolution’, which in her leaver year got the opportunity to choreograph the finale dance with fellow leavers. This is when she also completed her Level 2 Dance BTEC qualification. Isobelle started assisting at Talent Dance Academy in April 2023 and started teaching in the company in September 2023. This allowed her to complete her Level 2 Dance Teaching Qualification in July 2024 with Miss Charlotte and Mrs Vickers.

Ruby Parker

Ruby has been dancing since she was 2 and half years old at Vicky Grant School of Dance and has taken classes and exams in ballet, tap, modern and lyrical and still attends weekly classes. Ruby has danced in Pantomimes and always perform in her dance schools annual shows. Ruby is currently studying performing arts and dance at Impington International College where she will gain her A- levels. Once finished, Ruby would love to go and get a musical theatre degree at University. Last year Ruby alongside studying for her GCSES, gained her  level 2 dance leadership through Talent Dance Academy. Ruby has also been taught by Miss Charlotte for many years coming back to help assist and teach in after school clubs. Hemingford club holds a special place in Ruby's heart and she has fond memories of assisting and choreographing routines with Miss Charlotte there.

Liv Probert

Liv has been taught by Miss Charlotte from the age of 10. She started dancing when she was 3 with The Vicky Grant School of Dance doing ballet. She then started learning modern and tap when she was 5. Liv joined Miss Charlotte's after school performing arts classes held at her primary school until she left and went onto secondary school. When Liv left, she came back and assisted Miss Charlotte within the club and also attended her street dance lessons at the Vicky Grant School of Dance. Whilst attending classes at VG, Liv was asked to be part of the gala troupe. This is a big achievement as Miss Vicky only chooses dancers who she thinks are good enough and work hard enough to take part in representing the dance school. Recently Liv has graduated from her dream dance college “Bodywork” where she studied for 2 years gaining her Level 6 national diploma in dance. Not only did Liv get accepted but she is got straight into second year! As the principal was so impressed with Liv’s dancing and her achievements!! Liv has been assisting and teaching for Miss Charlotte for over 10 years! and was one of Miss Charlotte's first students in her clubs. (Making her feel very old!)
